Day 21 Anne Mallory – The ABCs of Romance

Loving Romance – As Easy As ABC

In Total SurrenderRomance novels are full of passion and intrigue, with bigger than life stories and intimate ones close to the heart. To celebrate Romance Awareness Month, here are a few fun ABC’s of why I love to read and write romance.

Alpha heroes and antagonists!
Beginnings. The promise at the start of each delicious new story when two people meet again or come together for the first time.
Charismatic and courageous characters.
Determination. Even when the protagonists aren’t sure they desire romance, they always seek love in the end.
Ever after endings. The happily ever after (HEA) never fails.
Fantastic fantasies and forever vows.
Girl-next-door meets boy-next-door…and nothing is ever quite the same.
Happy Endings! Giving a happy sigh at the end of the book.
Internal Conflict. The angst! The drama! The gripping tension that tears the characters apart, then patches them back together again.
Jetsetting characters and juicy love stories.
Kisses that last all night.
Love. Sometimes complicated, sometimes simple, but always beautiful in the end.
Murder, mayhem, marriages, mistakes, and masquerades!
Nice or naughty — no matter how sweet or spicy you like your characters and romance, there’s something for everyone!
Once Upon A Time…
Pushing and pulling — the tension of the characters, the reader, the story…
Starlit promises made in secret gardens.
United purposes.
Warriors, witches, wizardry, and wenches!
Xenophile delights–sheikhs, dukes, pirates, Italian millionaires!
Yarns filled with love, passion, and adventure.
Zealous readers with a zest for story!

What is your favorite letter for romance?

Meredith Duran for her lush, intelligent, and delicious books!

 Questions for Anne:

What is the craziest or ugliest object in your house, and why do you keep it?

My ratty bunny slippers. I love them.

If there was a movie made about your life, what would it be called? (And just for
fun, who would play you?)

Bunny Slippers of Doom. Starring Will Ferrell, in a wig.

What is the best non-monetary gift you ever received?

Hugs from loved ones–especially if I haven’t seen them in a while. There is nothing better.
