I read this book when it first came out, and am fascinated by its concepts. I am blessed to have a husband who mostly declutters our home on a regular basis.

However I do get overwhelmed by books sometimes, so one of my goals for 2019 is to start giving away more of my mountain of books. Stay tuned.

If clutter is a problem for you, I do recommend this little gem of a book. The idea of having only things in our homes which bring us joy is transformative, and if clutter truly affects your well-being, give it a try. (The Netflix show is binge-worthy too.)

Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort of Joy

I was introduced to this book back on The Oprah Winfrey Show in the mid-90s, and I’ve kept my copy since then. The book was a cultural phenomenon, a collection of daily essays that guides readers to more order, balance and joy.

It’s also a reminder to pay attention to what you enjoy, to show gratitude for what you have and to try to rid yourself of things that no longer serve you.

Simple Abundance ushered in the trend of keeping a gratitude journal, gently introduced visualization and reminded us that order gave us peace.

It’s a lovely book and sparked many conversations as to what’s important in our homes and in our lives.
