Day 47 – The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher

This may be the first-ever dual timeline novel I read. The characters have stayed with me for over 25 years, and considering what a phenomenon this book was, I imagine they’ve stayed with a few other people too.

It’s not a romance, exactly, though there is a lot of romance in the book.

As Penelope Keeling considers what to do with the painting her father painted of her, she relives the triumphs and tragedies of her lives, and her children contemplate what to do with the fortune that may come from it.

The Shell Seekers is only $2.99 for Kindle.

Have you read Rosamunde Pilcher before? Definitely worth picking up.

The Shell Seekers

At the end of a long and useful life, Penelope Keeling’s prized possession is┬áThe Shell Seekers, painted by her father, and symbolizing her unconventional life, from bohemian childhood to wartime romance. When her grown children learn their grandfather’s work is now worth a fortune, each has an idea as to what Penelope should do. But as she recalls the passions, tragedies, and secrets of her life, she knows there is only one answer…and it lies in her heart, in this beloved Cornwall novel from Rosamunde Pilcher.
