On Day 2 of #RARM20, I’m talking books I’ve binged this year.
I know I’m not alone in feeling a little unproductive for a lot of 2020. Talking to friends and doing the tiniest bit of social media surfing makes it clear that a lot of people out there are having a hard time focusing, whether it’s to read or write books.
I’ve done a lot of audiobook listening – taking long walks, doing a minimal amount of housework, and playing many more games of Candy Crush Soda Saga than I’d like to admit to.
But books, whether read or listened to, are such a wonderful refuge in troubling times, and this has been such an avalanche of troubling times, yes?
So – you all have already discovered Suzanne Brockmann, yes? (I’m sure a bunch of you will answer yes, but if not, you’ll definitely want to pick one up.)

This March, I discovered that all of her Tall, Dark and Dangerous titles were in the Audible Escape package.* I’d read a few of them before, but it felt like a fun idea to read them all in order. So I did.
I haven’t read all of SB’s books, but I’ve read a lot of them, and they’re all exciting, suspenseful, funny, heart-wrenching, sexy and romantic.
Basically brilliant.
Most people know SB for the Troubleshooters, but this is the series that put her on the map. Since they were originally published as category romance, they’re a little short in length, but certainly not in emotional depth or heart.
It was a lovely dive into a great set of books. I can’t pick a favorite, but Prince Joe was one of them, and since it’s the first, you might was well start there!
(And if you haven’t read The Troubleshooters yet, you might actually want to start there! The first one of that series is The Unsung Hero and it is breathtaking. It’s also only $2.99!)
You can get a great, interesting insider’s look into SB’s inspiration for the Tall, Dark and Dangerous series on her website (here), and a list of her series and order of books, too (here).
She also wrote an amazing post for the first-ever Read-A-Romance Month in 2013, and you can find it – Embracing The Other – here.

* The Audible Escape package offers thousands of romance titles (and some women’s fiction) at a reasonable monthly fee of just under $7.
Enjoy!
