Julia Kent has been on my “I really need to pick up one of her books someday” list for a while now, but her recent Do-Over titles piqued my interest enough to finally do it.
These books have really bawdy hooks. A fluffer (who stages homes for a living) responds to a want ad for the other kind of fluffer.
“Staging homes means showing your best angle. The same principle applies in making a certain kind of movie. Turns out a “fluffer” doesn’t arrange decorative pillows on a couch.“
Of course she winds up running into her high school crush, while she’s in a compromising situation.
PERKY (which is currently $.99 on kindle)
One hundred years ago when I was young and impulsive (okay, it was five, alright? Five years ago…) I let my boyfriend take, let’s just say…compromising pictures of me.
(Shut up. It made sense at the time).
Surprise! The sleazy back-stabbing jerk posted them on a website and, well, you can guess what happened. That’s right.
I’m a meme. A really gross one.
Her ex is now a sitting Congressman and he (still) claims he wasn’t responsible.
You get the picture.
I’ve read two of these books – PERKY and FEISTY – and they’re just so clever and fun. (And sexy and smart. And yet also at moments heart-wrenching.)
I’m looking forward to reading (okay, listening to – they’re included in the Audible Escape package, which is where I discovered them) HASTY and FLUFFY soon.
These are really good, and you should consider picking them up.
